Dal 2008 ad oggi i diversi browser stanno dando grande battaglia al più diffuso Internet Explorer, che tenta di difendersi con l’ottava versione uscita proprio oggi.
Ogni browser ha una propria caratteristica di punta: Chrome ha la velocità del motore Javascript, Firefox le estensioni e così via. Ma quale tra questi è davvero il più sicuro?
Beh, premetto che è fondamentale installare sempre gli ultimi aggiornamenti per godere della massima sicurezza, una grande percentuale delle infezioni presenti nel web può essere evitata in questo modo.
Fatto questo, il rischio di essere colpiti è davvero basso se usate i browser più comuni: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari e Chrome.
Inoltre tutti questi, ad eccezione di Opera, hanno integrato la funzione di Navigazione in incognito, che, una volta attivata, vi permette di navigare in Internet senza lasciare alcuna traccia. Dunque niente file nella cronologia, cookie, file temporanei eccetera, e questo influisce molto sulla protezione delle vostre password, soprattutto in un computer condiviso.
Un’altra funzione, presente però solo in Firefox e Internet Explorer, è la configurazione dei livelli di sicurezza.
Ma vediamo i 5 browser più dettagliatamente:
Internet Explorer 8
E’ il browser più diffuso, ed è questo un suo lato negativo, infatti, proprio per la sua popolarità, è un obbiettivo decisamente prelibato per un hacker.
Inoltre il suo sistema ActiveX, che gli altri browser non hanno, può essere una via in più per un attacco informatico.
Pur essendo uno tra i più controllati e con maggiori funzionalità per la sicurezza, per i numerosi attacchi non è molto consigliato.
Firefox 3
Anch’esso è un ottimo browser dal punto di vista della privacy e sicurezza, anche se questa non è sempre facile da configurare. A mio parere in questo ambito è un ottima alternativa a Internet Explorer.
Safari 3
Ha un ottimo blocco dei cookie, ma ha un area di sicurezza meno personalizzabile dei precedenti. Chiede sempre conferma prima di scaricare un file, ed evita quindi download di programmi indesiderati.
Opera 9
Non è certo il browser più sicuro, o meglio, solo in certi casi. Manca di costanti aggiornamenti per la sicurezza e questo di certo è un rischio.
Chrome 1
Chrome è un browser che punta molto sulla velocità, e questo compromette in parte la sicurezza. Ha la possibilità di ricordare le proprie password come testo, ma le rende più facili da individuare. Tutto sommato nelle ultime versioni questa funzione sembra sia stata resa più sicura. Probabilmente la prossima versione del browser, già in fase beta, correggerà molte vulnerabilità.
Ora sta a voi decidere, se avete avuto brutte esperienze e puntate sulla sicurezza, oppure sulla velocità, o se li volete provare tutti!
