Il software parental control è un'applicazione specifica per controllare e proteggere i propri figli da tutti i mali che il Web porta con sé. Questo programma controlla la navigazione Internet, mail, p2p e chat, bloccando tutti i contenuti pericolosi o potenzialmente pericolosi.
In questi ultimi anni, il Web è stato sommerso da ragazzini/bambini che navigano indisturbati nella grande rete con una moltitudine infinita di contenuti a loro disposizione, in parte certamente costruttivi, ma in parte anche dannosi e non idonei alla loro età.
Il genitore copre un ruolo fondamentale per l'istruzione e l'educazione dei figli, deve sempre essere presente e pronto a dare consigli alla propria prole. Molte volte, veniamo a conoscenza di bambini che passano ore e ore davanti al PC, e il genitore non si preoccupa di verifica quello che il figlio sta facendo. Il PC è uno strumento che ha rivoluzionato il nostro modo di vivere, nel bene o nel male, ha portato a tutti maggiori conoscenze e cultura. Nel Web sono presenti milioni di informazioni facilmente reperibili da tutti con u
n semplice click. Putroppo nella rete circolano soggetti poco raccomandabili che hanno l'obbiettivo di avvicinarsi ai bambini, anche con falsa identità, attirarli nella loro trappola e fare cose certamente macabre.
Il mondo informatico, sempre attento alla sicurezza, ha voluto occuparsi anche di questo problema, problema causato sopratutto dalle persone malintenzionate, ma anche dai genitori. Dobbiamo ricordare che l'aiuto e la maturità di un adulto non può essere sostituita da quella di un software che esegue azioni e comandi in maniera rigida, senza offrire spiegazioni e consigli ai bambini.
